Douglas’s passion for Architecture and Historic Preservation is expressed in his Instagram and work as a Board Member for Save Iconic Architecture and serving as a docent at Frank Lloyd Wright’s masterpiece Hollyhock House in Hollywood California.

Save Iconic Architecture (SIA) envisions cities where iconic architecture is protected, preserved, and celebrated.  SIA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission it is to bring awareness and action to preserving endangered architectural and significant cultural structures as art through its 3 core strategies, Landmarking, Preservation, and Advocacy and Awareness.

Douglas’s Instagram is a blog of Architecturally significant buildings as well as Art and Design he observe and appreciate. He works to deepen his knowledge of Architecture by visiting and sharing the incredible buildings and things he observe that resonate with him in his life.

Hollyhock House where Douglas works as a docent is a Frank Lloyd Wright home in Hollywood. “Hollyhock house was Frank Lloyd Wright’s first Los Angeles commission…Built between 1919 and 1921 for Aline Barnsdall, the house introduced young architects Rudolph Schindler and Richard Neutra to Los Angeles. It is a harbinger of California Modernism, which came to include celebrated homes by all three visionaries that continue to impact the direction of residential design. Today, Hollyhock House is owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles, Department of Cultural Affairs.”

These passions and projects inform his interior design work by broadening my knowledge of design history and deepen his connection to the wonderful Architecture and Design community in Los Angeles and beyond.
